Want to Start Taking Forward Action on Building Your Platform of Raving Fans?

Introducing: Voice Lessons, Margo's exclusive private coaching offer that helps you figure out what you're doing with your brand so you can start growing your platform.

Listen, I know, you know, you're smart. You know how to write. You’re great at business, you’re amazing at client management, and you’re overflowing with ideas on what to write about.

That’s not the problem.

The problem is for some reason you’re stuck. You’re not moving forward on the things you want to be doing.

Your brand isn't growing the way you know it should be.

You have a block.

But you’re not the type of person who gets blocked. You’re the genius who has a million brilliant ideas just waiting to be unleashed on the world and is productive 24/7.

Well, ok, you would be that person if it wasn’t for this damn block.

Which is where I come in.

Margo Aaron

Hi, Hello, I’m Margo Aaron, your trusty narrator, recovering academic, accidental marketer, and current writer of words at That Seems Important. I'm also the creator of Voice Lessons (more on that later).

For now, you need to know this:

There’s this thing that happens when you’re doing work that matters or feels personal to you.

Work that (ahem) seems important. Your brain, out of seemingly NOWHERE goes:

Then, it implodes, which is very annoying and inconvenient. And then, it starts giving you the 6,457 reasons why this AWESOME EXCITING idea you had yesterday is the dumbest worst stupidest idea ever.

And then, it feeds you lies about why you need to ABORT this idea RIGHT NOW.

There’s a reason your brain does this.

Some call it perfectionism, others call it fear or impostor syndrome. Steven Pressfield named it, "resistance," and I call it: Part of The Process.

Here’s the process - presented in a very professional manner, because I am a professional:

Creative Process Map That Seems Important

Most educated, capable people aren’t familiar with this map because no one teaches it in grad school. Which is why most people quit too early and abandon their brilliant ideas when they hit the “EVERYTHING SUCKS” stage. They don’t realize that “OMG I'M A GENIUS” will return in 2 more weeks if they stay put and continue to slog through the process and stay the course.

Steven Pressfield calls this “turning pro” - the moment you stop relying on inspiration and start taking your work and the process seriously. I call it navigating the map (Ok, fine, I also call it turning pro).

There are a lot of reasons why we get stuck - which I’ll help you uncover - but the main thing I need you to know is it’s completely normal. In fact, it’s expected.

You’re supposed to get stuck. It’s the creative work’s filter for amateurs.

Amateurs bail when it gets hard. Or remain forever locked in what I call, “creative purgatory” which is the space between, “EVERYTHING SUCKS,” “STILL SUCKS,” and “CRAWL IN A HOLE AND DIE.”

Creative Purgatory Map That Seems Important

Creative purgatory is what happens when you let that fear of being seen and called out as a fraud take over and you lose sight of WTF you were trying to do in the first place.

Which is how you get stuck.

No matter how capable you are - you have to face the moment when you want to crawl and a hole and die, judge all your work as stupid, let perfectionism take over, and fail to move forward.

And then you have a choice: What do I do?

To which, you answer: I hire Margo for Voice Lessons.

Voice Lessons will help you come out of hiding, so you stop playing small and safe and start doing the things you KNOW you need to do to grow.

You've read all the books. You've taken all the courses. You've gone to all the conferences. You've followed all the thought leaders. You've joined all the masterminds.

You know enough.

You've never going to feel like you're done learning because you are never done learning. But when it comes to putting your work out there in a way that both SOUNDS LIKE YOU and ATTRACTS THE RIGHT PEOPLE - there's no more following other people's formulas, methods, and rules.

There's only your voice. Your vision. Content done your way.

If you've experienced paralysis, overthinking, or perfectionism when it comes to doing what you know you need to do to grow your business - YOU. ARE. READY.

That's the sign that you're done with learning and it's time to go all-in on your dream.

Which is where I come in.

What People Say About Working With Margo

"Six weeks later and I am over the freaking moon about my business! DO YOU KNOW HOW INCREDIBLE THAT FEELS? I am clear, focused, excited, primed and ready to make moves. I HAVE A VOICE AND I KNOW HOW TO USE IT. If you've ever felt without one, you know how liberating and important that is."

- Hannah Shamji, Host, The Hannah Podcast

"Margo is a rock star. I gained more insights from a one-hour conversation with her than I would have in weeks of fumbling around with the marketing for my coaching service. She has a rare acumen for asking the right questions to understand you and your offer and then translating that into a captivating marketing strategy. The value I received exceeds her rate. If she's amenable to helping you, don't hesitate to work with her."

- Ozan Varol, Author, "Think Like a Rocket Scientist"

Melissa Howard 2

"Margo's superpower is mixing practical advice with remarkable insights into what's holding you back. She honed into the actual reason that I was struggling and helped me get unstuck. After our discussion, I completely shifted my thinking around my writing goals and gained the clarity I needed to move forward."

- Melissa Howard, Digital Marketing Consultant

Here's How We'll Get You Un-Stuck And Taking FORWARD ACTION On Growing Your Platform

When I work with clients stuck in creative purgatory, I use a specific framework for accessing and using your voice as you establish and grow your platform.

It has three stages: Disentangle, Define, and Defeat.

  • How you make money and how you make an impact
  • What you want and what you’re good at
  • What you’re doing with your platform and what you WANT to do with your platform

  • Impact, difference, meaning, change
  • How you make money
  • What you enjoy
  • What you want

  • Perfectionism
  • Overthinking
  • Writer’s block
  • Resistance
  • “Supposed To” and Comparisonitis

My framework makes it so you stop feeling like 💩 about yourself all the time, stop second-guessing yourself, and START TAKING FORWARD ACTION on growing your platform.

I can’t make the consequences of using your voice disappear. We still live in a world where using your voice is a radical act for a lot of us.

But what I will promise you is you’re equipped to handle it.

[hitting enter to denote the importance of this next sentence]

Avoiding doing this work - avoiding using your voice - is like sentencing yourself to a life of quiet desperation.

If you're someone who is feeling like there's more inside of you BURSTING to come out, you can imagine what not letting it out for the rest of your life will feel like.

We cannot avoid the social and personal consequences of using our voice, but we can use that voice, if we want to, as a beacon to attract more people like us.

Grow your audience, stand out online, and become the big recognizable AUTHENTIC personal brand you want to become.

You'll finally have clarity on who you are, what you actually want, and what you're trying to do with your brand and platform.

Voice Lessons help you use your voice to take a stand on the things you care about.

Which is how you become the big recognizable AUTHENTIC personal brand you want to become.

We’ll dig into why you’re afraid of looking stupid, being unprepared, and saying the wrong thing. Why you’re obsessed with getting it right (and why that’s a good thing, but right now it’s keeping you from shipping).

The pressure to make your writing perfect sucks all the fun out of the creative process.

Part of what we’ll do together is get back to the parts of your work that light you up.

We’ll explore what you like, why you like it, what’s interesting to you, and what content you personally enjoy consuming. And use that as a compass to direct us towards what and how you actually want to be showing up online and in your content and using your voice.

So you can take pride in your work again.

I will help you get out of your head and onto the page, so you can get on with growing your audience of raving fans.

  • Practice using your voice in a safe environment before unleashing it on the world

  • Support and encouragement - This shiz is hard to do alone. I'll keep you motivated to follow through on the assignments and producing the content you want to produce.

$3,000. We use PayPal and yes we take credit cards. And, yes, there are payment plan options.

How do we get started:

We schedule a call. We’ll chat, dig into what's going on in your business and where you're stuck, we'll review the details of our 6-weeks together and - if you're a good fit, I’ll send you payment details and an onboarding survey.

And, then, it’s go time 😉

Here's What Else You Will Get When You Sign Up For Voice Lessons

Deadlines are the most effective way to get you taking action on overcoming impostor syndrome, which is why we'll set them. And I'll check in with you - a lot

Finally, feel like you know what you're talking about. We'll clear out that mental clutter and get you focused when it comes to what you have to say and how you want to say it (and where you want to show up).

Want my eyes on your stuff? You got it. I'll do copyedits and feedback on creative assets - we'll also (probably) do a lot of brainstorming on Google docs, so you'll be getting lots of notes from someone who's been at this for the better part of a decade.

We'll take the voices in your head telling you, "You suck!" and throw them in the garbage. Ok, fiiiine, I have an assignment for getting rid of them, but same idea. You will walk away feeling a lot better about how you show up in your work.

"Margo brought me more clarity in 45 minutes than other consultants/coaches have brought me in the last 6 months. Not only is she honest and brings a genuine energy that is rare in our time, she has an innate ability to make one feel at ease. After all she gave me some follow up notes and to does which was really helpful." - Alexandra Hall

"I love Margo’s ability to dig into the heart of the matter - with great questions and well-directed answers. We got to the heart of what I really needed and then cut through the b.s. to focus there. She does it with a lot of warmth, but backs it with insanely high emotional intelligence and impressive knowledge of marketing." - Christina Salerno

What Time Zone will this be in?

I'm in Eastern Standard Time (EST) and we can work out a time that works in your time zone.

Do you have a payment plan?

Yes, two installments of $1,500

Is there a Money-Back Guarantee?

While I expect all my clients to do the work, come prepared, and implement what they're taught, I cannot make you do it. But I can make my MBG contingent upon it. If you find within the first 7 days that this is not for you, then email [email protected] with your completed assignments and a detailed account of your grievance and I will refund your investment. I want people here who want to be here. And I hope that's you. In the event that it isn't, I understand and wish you the best.

How much homework will there be?

The assignments will be congruent with what you're working on. They're not a distraction from your business. And I promise no fluffy, "If you had $16 million dollars and were going to die tomorrow, what would you do?" questions. These are customized assignments based on what you tell me your goals are and activities I know will help get you unstuck.

What if I'm in Australia or Europe?

Not a problem. I've worked with people from all continents. We simply find a time when we're both awake to connect each week.

Will this program help me become a gluten-free chef?

Unfortunately, no, but thanks for the thoughtful question.

What if I have other questions?
